A live webcam view of the African Elephants as they graze inside the Indianapolis Zoo located at White River State Park. The African Elephant is the largest land mammal on the Earth. Currently, the Indianapolis Zoo is home to five female and one male African elephants. Their herd includes the oldest and heaviest of the females - Sophi - plus the second oldest, Cita, third oldest Kubwa, next in line Tombi, and youngest adult female, Ivory.

Outside with Asian elephants: The elephants' outdoor cam is where you can see the Zoo's elephants doing what elephants do. They flap their large ears, swing their trunks in the air to sense and move things, munch on hay and fresh produce, throw sand on their backs or get in the pool to keep cool in summer, interact with the other elephants, play, participate in training sessions, and get groomed by keepers. Every day at 11 a.m. EST, you can watch the elephants in a training session.

With the webcam is pointing right, you should be able to see our African Elephant herd. With the recent birth of baby cow calf 'Justa', the Howletts herd is the largest in captivity in Europe. The herd is led by Masa who acts as the Matriarch and leader of the group. The two bulls, Jums and Ibeni run with separate groups of cows to keep the peace and avoid fighting between the bulls.
